Rules of Texas hold' Em Poker Texas hold' Em is the most widespread type of Poker and it is the one used on the sites of Poker on line. The rules are relatively simple: to obtain a combination of cards (called a hand) stronger than the other participants still in the game. Two non visible cards are distributed by the dealer to the players around the Poker table. After having taken knowledge of his two cards, each player bets in a clockwise direction. There are various systems of bidding, the most common system in the sites of Poker on line being Blind open. The player on the left of the dealer thus poses the starting bet (blind) which is generally of a token (a chip). The dealer distributes then, three visible cards common to all the players (the flop). These cards associated with the two private cards constitute the hands of the participants. A new round of betting is launched. Then the dealer turns over a new card to the center of the table called the turning (the turn) which is also used for the constitution of the hands of each player. A third round of betting commences, with each turn of betting the player who wishes it, can fold but they give up their previous bets. The dealer turns over a straight and last card in the center of the table called the river. The last round of betting starts, the player having the best hand of five cards (its two private cards and three of the five public cards) wins the total betting (or pot). If two players or more have the same winning hand, they divide the pot in an equal way. << Back |
