In Poker rules, the winner of a round is the player who has the best combination of cards (hand). Here are various hands, from the strongest to the weakest.
The royal flush, from the 10 to the ace of the same suit, example: 10, jack, queen, king and ace of spades.
The straight flush, five of the same suit in sequence, example: 7, 8, 9, 10, jack of diamonds.
Four of a kind, four of the same cards value, example: jack of hearts, jack of diamonds, jack of clubs and jack of spades.
The full house, three cards of the same value, and two other of the same value (Three of a kind and a pair). When more than one full house is on the table, the winning hand is that with the highest three of a kind. Example: queen of heart, queen of spade and king of diamonds, king of clubs, king of hearts.
The flush, five cards of the same suit. When several flushes are in competition, the winning hand is that which has the strongest card. If two same cards clash, it is the second strongest card and this until the straight. Example: have, 5, 7, 9 and jackof spades.
The straight, five consecutive cards which are not of the same suit. When several straights clash, the winning hand is that having the strongest card. The ace can be regarded highest or as the low cards. Example: 8 of heart, 9 of spade, 10 of spade, jackof diamonds and clover queen.
Three of a kind, three of the same cards value, example: king of hearts, king of diamonds and king of clubs.
Two pairs, two cards of the same value associated with two other of the same cards value, example: and jack of hearts, jack of clubs plus queen of spades and queen of diamonds.
The pair, two cards of the same value. In the event of equality, the winning hand is that having the highest card in the other cards apart from the pair. Example: 10 of clubs and 10 of spade.
High card, in other words no combination, the winning hand being that which has the highest card.<< Back
